HOW TO PACK FOR A SHORT TRIP
TIP #1 CONSIDER THE WEATHER, DAY TIME EVENTS AND EVENING EVENTS
TIP #2 START WITH SHOES.
Include a pair of flat sandals that are comfortable that may have a bit of shine or texture. You can walk around in them or go to a cute lunch in them.
If you’re going to be partying and you want to wear heels, consider a metallic choice. A thicker heeled option would allow you to party and still walk back to the hotel. A metallic option will allow you to mix that shoe with any night time outfit.
If you aren’t wearing heels, a metallic flat or wedge does the same thing!
Include a pair of fresh white sneakers. A slip on or tie up white sneaker pairs well with most outfits.
TIP# 3 CHOOSE A COLOR PALETTE.
I often look at a key piece I know I want to take with me and use it as my color palette guide. So if I have a maxi dress that is yellow, I may choose to create a palette of yellow, navy and grey.
Lay out clothing items that fall into your chosen color palette.
Consider adding prints that blend with the colors. They may have additional colors in them but if the majority of the print blends, it’s a go!
Add more tops than bottoms!!
Some items may have an accent color that can add interest to your palette. -animal print or a pop of your favorite color works well here!
TIP #4 USING THE BOTTOMS, MATCH UP COMBINATIONS OF OUTFITS THAT CAN BE CREATED USING ONE BOTTOM AND DIFFERENT TOPS.
If you can create 2 looks using one pair of bottoms, it goes on the final stack! Continue to try different combinations while looking for ways to eliminate extra items.
